Director Duthel wished to praise the "prestige" of the UAB and stated that many students from his centre seek to continue their studies by enrolling at the UAB. Promoting the knowledge of languages

The agreement mainly aims to promote "the knowledge of the four languages present at the Lycée Français": Catalan, Spanish, French and English. It will allow UAB teaching staff to share their expertise in the field of translation and interpreting both with teachers and students of the French centre. Students from the faculty will also be able to do internships at the Lycée Français and offer academic support to students. The Lycée will also take part in the activity "Interpreter for a day" aimed at pre-university students.

The Lycée Francais of Barcelona is administered by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), dependent of the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs. It was founded in 1924 and includes both French students and students from other nationalities with the objective of fostering the French language and culture.
