New artistic activities recognized with credits ECTS

In the second semester Cultua en Viu opens new places at Body Percussion activities, Introduction to Theatrical Performance in English and Voice Techniques. The places for the Choir and the Orchestra are still opened. The activities Body Percussion and Introduction to Theatrical Performance in English are recognised with 1 credit ECTS. The Choir is recognized with 5 credits (annual) or 2.5 credits (one semester), and the Orchestra is recognized with 6 credits (annual) or 2.3 credits (one semester).

The Body Percussion course will be taught by Anna Llobart. It will focus on working on the basic tools to reveal the rhythmical possibilities of the body. The body will be treated as an instrument, the sense of rhythm will be developed and the individuals will coordinate themselves in the context of the group. Improvised rhythmical structures will be created on this basis.

Introduction to Theatrical Performance in English is an activity addressed to those who want to discover the Theatre Arts. Participants will discover the wide range of possibilities that the body and the voice offer. Classes will be taught entirely in English. Therefore, they are a unique opportunity for those students who want to improve their English language skills. The Canadian actor and director Harris Gordon will lead the students and he will also help each one of them to develop their expression abilities.

The Voice Techniques course will be taught by Raúl Jorquera. It will give theoretical and practical guides to the participants so they can look after their voices and strengthen them, both in musical and everyday areas. The course will work on the fundamental aspects of the principles of vocal production, body awareness and breathing techniques. The goal will be a free and natural emission, a clear and natural diction and a discipline that makes possible to develop the voice on the basis of one’s resources.

The places for the Choir and the UAB Orchestra are still opened. The Choir works on a varied repertoire, which includes from the Renaissance to contemporary music. The Choir performs both inside and outside the campus throughout the academic year, it often participates in meetings of university choirs. The Orchestra of the UAB is a group directed by Jesús Badia. It is composed of musicians that already have a basic level and want to continue combining music and university studies with dedication but also enjoying. It has a flexible and varied musical repertoire. The Choir is recognized with 5 credits (annual) or 2.5 credits (one semester), and the Orchestra is recognized with 6 credits (annual) or 2.3 credits (one semester).
