The UAB community, with all its ideological variety, shares the firmest conviction that violence should never be the way to tackle political conflicts in democratic societies.

At midday today, all UAB faculties and schools ceased their activity for 15 minutes. This stoppage was called for by the Governing Body today, Monday 2 October, as a sign of rejection and condemnation of the violence used by the state security forces against citizens on 1 October.

Our university community, with all its ideological variety, shares the firmest conviction that violence should never be the way to tackle political conflicts in democratic societies.

Once more we call for dialogue and negotiation and for those with the power to do so to take action to solve the grievous political conflict unfolding in Catalonia.
