UAB number 1 in Spain, 70 in Europe, and 146 worldwide in the Times rankings

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is the best university in Spain according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016, and is in 70th position in Europe and in 146th position worldwide. The UAB is in 122nd place for impact of research articles.

The rankings highlight the impact of UAB research articles, with 83.8 points: well above the average score of 47.3 for the 800 universities analysed. This places the UAB in 112nd place worldwide for this indicator.
 
Regarding research quality, scored according to the number of articles published per researcher, research funding and the reputation of the research, the UAB is in 164th position, with 40 points. As for teaching quality, the rankings evaluate the number of PhDs, academic reputation, the institution's budget and the teacher/student ratio. On this indicator, the UAB obtains 40.3 points and is ranked 157 in the world.
 
To evaluate internationalisation, THE-WUR studies the percentage of international academic staff and students, and research articles co-authored with researchers from other countries. The UAB obtains 50.3 points for internationalisation, almost 7 points above the overall average.
 
Having improved its scores in all the areas evaluated with respect to the previous edition, the UAB has moved up the rankings from the 226-250 band to 146th position this year.
 
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are among the most prestigious world rankings. The bibliometric data is gathered, analysed and verified by the SCOPUS worldwide database provider, belonging to Elsevier.
