The first event to be held under the 25-N programme launched by the UAB Observatory for Equality will be the conference on new perspectives on male violence from a non-identitary feminism (“Noves perspectives sobre la violència masclista des del feminisme no-identitari”), to be held on 17 November at 1 p.m. at the Cinema Hall of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The conference will be given by Laura Macaya-Andrés, specialist in gender perspective, assessment, intervention and accompaniment of women victims of gender-based violence.

Laura Macaya-Andres is a feminist activist and syndicalist. Her preferred topics are the perspective of penal abolitionism and anti-punitivism. She is the author of the 2018 protocol of the Barcelona City Council “No callem”, on how to act in cases of sexual aggressions and harassments in night entertainment and private spaces. She is also author and co-publisher of the book Alianzas rebeldes. Un feminismo más allá de la identidad. Macaya is currently director of the association Genera, which fights to defend sexual and gender rights and liberties.

The conference will form part of the programme commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 25 November, organised by the UAB Observatory for Equality. The programme also includes the institutional 25N event which will be held in the conference hall of the Rectorat building on 29 November. More information can be found on this year's 25N poster and on the UAB's social networks.
