ACCIÓ adheres to the Hub b30 platform

The Agency for Business Competitiveness (ACCIÓ) of the Government of Catalonia has become one of the new members of the Hub b30, an initiative put forth by the UAB, the UAB Research Park, Eurecat technology centre and the B30 Area Association to foster innovation in the region.

Margarita Arboix, Rector of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB); Javier Lafuente, Vice Rector for Innovation and Strategic Projects at the UAB and Director of the UAB Research Park; Xavier López, Corporate and Operations Director of Eurecat; and Josep Monràs, President of the B30 Area Association, today signed an agreement with Joan Romero, Managing Director of ACCIÓ (business competitiveness agency belonging to the Ministry for Business and Knowledge) with the aim of incorporating this entity into the Hub b30 platform.

With this new incorporation, the Hub b30 contains a total of nine research, development and innovation agents within the B30 area. This strengthens their capacity to meet the innovation needs and challenges of the region's businesses and institutions, through collaborations and interactions. “One and a half years after its cretion, the Hub is vertebrating an interaction platform between the society of knowledge and businesses and institutions”, UAB Rector Arboix highlighted.

ACCIÓ's Managing Director Joan Romero pointed out that with the signing of this agreement “we are one step further in boosting innovation, R&D and technology transfer in Catalonia, creating new bridges between the production fabric and technological and scientific knowledge of the B-30 area, one of the most advanced regional innovation ecosystems we have in the country”.
