Second edition of the Pre-sessional Spanish Language Course

A group of 30 students will participate in the second edition of these courses.

Last Monday we welcomed a new group of Chinese students who will attend the tailor made Spanish programme previous to university. The course lasts 8 months, and its main objective is that students reach level B2 of Spanish, to apply for a place at a Spanish university. The programme is divided into two parts: the first 4 months will focus on general Spanish language; the second part will combine general and specific Spanish: academic Spanish, business Spanish, Spanish history and culture. The programme also includes external activities such as cultural visits to museums, companies and other places of interest, in order to enrich the learning experience.

Some participants of the first edition, which was very successful, start different programmes this month at the UAB. We had the chance to interview one of them, Kan Qin, who attended the Spanish programme from January to August 2018. Kan studied Audiovisual Communication at the Sichuan Normal University (China), where a professor recommended him studying at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He reached level B2.1 after the course at UAB Idiomas Barcelona, and has just started the Master's Degree in Advertisement Account Management at the UAB.

After finishing the Master's degree, he plans to go back to China and travel to different Spanish speaking countries such as Mexico. Meeting new people and establishing professional contacts are two main reasons to study at the UAB.

Kan likes Spanish culture and culture, beautiful architecture in Barcelona and kindness of Spanish people. He will surely recommed this learning and living experience to his friends in China.
