Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

Access to the master's degree is open to:
 
  • a. Graduates in Education Studies and Psychology, graduates or diploma-holders in Social Education.
  • b.. Graduates in Primary and Early Childhood Education and teachers of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Foreign Languages, Musial Expression, Physical Education and Special Education.
 
Admission to the master's degree is also open to graduates in other areas of Social Sciences, Humanities, Experimental Sciences and Technologies and Health Sciences with proven professional experience or interests related to the field of education, whose applications will be considered by a commission formed by the coordinators of the two specialisations and chaired by the master's degree coordinator.
 
Admission to the master's degree is also open to candidates with qualifications from other countries when these comply with admission requirements established by higher authorities.

Selection criteria

If the number of candidates is higher than that of places offered, these will be allocated giving preference to:
  • a. Graduates in Education Studies and Psychology, graduates or diploma-holders in Social Education.
  • b. Graduates in Primary and Early Childhood Education and teachers of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Foreign Languages, Musial Expression, Physical Education and Special Education.
Applications will be ranked according to the following criteria:
  • Academic transcript. (60%)
  • Curriculum Vitae indicating employment experience in education. (30%)
  • English level B1 (independent user) on the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. (10%)

Complementary training

Students from other areas of study like Humanities, Experimental Sciences and Technology, Health Sciences, or Social Science subjects not directly linked to education, may need to take and pass bridging courses.

The Master's Committee will examine students' previous studies and determine whether bridging courses need to be taken or not.

The bridging courses to be taken by graduates in Humanities, irrespective of the tracks they wish to follow, are:
  • Biopsychological Aspects of the Person, 12 ECTS
  • The Teaching-Learning Process, 6 ECTS
  • Organisational Development of Education Institutions, 6 ECTS
  • Design, Monitoring and Evaluation of Plans and Programmes, 12 ECTS
The bridging courses to be taken by graduates in Experimental Sciences and Technology, irrespective of the tracks they wish to follow, are:
  • Theories and History of Education, 6 ECTS
  • The Teaching-Learning Process, 6 ECTS
  • Anthropology and Philosophy of Education, 9 ECTS
  • Socio-Political Bases of Education, 15 ECTS
  • Organisational Development of Education Institutions, 6 ECTS
  • Design, Monitoring and Evaluation of Plans and Programmes, 12 ECTS
The bridging courses proposed for graduates in Nursing and Medicine (Health Sciences) are:
  • Theories and History of Education, 6 ECTS
  • The Teaching-Learning Process, 6 ECTS
  • Socio-Political Bases of Education, 15 ECTS
  • Organisational Development of Education Institutions, 6 ECTS
  • Design, Monitoring and Evaluation of Plans and Programmes, 12 ECTS
Finally, for graduates in Social Sciences subjects not directly linked to education the bridging courses proposed are:
