UAB SPHERE
The UAB-CIE Sphere is a region of excellence, an exosystem of knowledge, in which UAB-affiliated centres co-exist and collaborate to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region. Aggregation represents an increase in critical mass, a sharing of resources, synergies, optimisation of investments and an improvement in the sustainability of the syste,. which results consequently in an improvement in international competitiveness. The It has been defined largely by the important role played by the development of the project "UAB Campus of International Excellence".

UAB RESEARCH PARK
The UAB Research Park (PRUAB) is a non-profit organization created in 2007 by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Institute of Research and Technology (IRTA). Its mission is to promote and enhance the technology and knowledge transfer activities of its members, encourage entrepreneurship through the creation of new businesses based on research and generally facilitate interaction between research, business and society.

PARTICIPANT RESEARCH CENTRES
A large majority of research centres within the UAB Sphere collaborate in both researh and academic activities at the Faculty of Sciences. These centres open their doors and welcome students from our faculty to participate in summer work stays, work placements, and to conduct their final projects and dissertations, as well as a large number of PhD theses.
