Sequentia is a bioinformatics company that offers services and technologies that help transform genomic data into knowledge in plant and animal research, food production, and biomedicine. Walter Sanseverino and Riccardo Aiese Cigliano, two Italian researchers with a real passion for genetics and omics sciences, founded Sequentia in 2013 as a spin-off of the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) in Barcelona.

Sequentia offers its expertise to help researchers to obtain high quality data analysis in an efficient and fully customizable way. The application of Next-Generation Sequencing and on-chip techniques allow researchers to produce a huge amount of data that require scrupulous analysis to get relevant biological information. Working on data generated from all sequencing platforms (i.e. Illumina, Roche, Pacific Bioscences, Life Technologies, OpGen,etc), their aim is to use and develop specific pipelines to focus on biological process and obtain valuable results.Currently, Sequentia is organised into four specialised divisions:
- Genomics
- Epigenomics
- Metagenomics
- Transcriptomatics
