Photographic exhibition at the Social Sciences Library to claim the role of libraries at the present time

03/04/2019

Libraries have existed for many centuries, at least for twenty-eight centuries... The first recorded library is that of the Palace of Nineveh (Assyria), in the 7th century BC. Currently, with the emergence of the internet in our lives, the libraries live a moment when their own existence is questioned.

To contribute to this debate, eight photographers from Afocer (Cerdanyola-Ripollet Photo-Film Group) exhibit a sample of photographs from several Catalan libraries under the title "Libraries: programmed obsolescence?". The photos are grouped into several topics: "Users", "Inside doors" and "Outside doors."

You will find the photographs of the exhibition in various places of the Social Sciences Library, and you can see it until May 24, 2019.
