Exhibition on the centenary of Einstein's visit

Text La Visita d'Einstein a Catalunya

The Science and Technology Library shows the itinerary of this historic visit as reflected by scientific disseminators through Twitter

18/04/2023

On February 22, Twitter followers in the scientific field woke up to this news: 100 years ago today the physicist Albert Einstein visited Catalonia! A new in the form of a tweet to which others joined, in the following hours, and also in subsequent days.
This exhibition reviews the itinerary of that visit, carried out between February 22 and March 1, 1923, in a thread of 66 tweets. And to do so, we have based ourselves mainly on the threads published by Quim Bosch (@quimbosch), Xavier Lasauca (@xavierlasauca) and the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation-FCRI (@fundaciorecerca). In addition to some more specific by Xavier Roqué (@Xavier_Roque_R), Lluís Martí (in your profile “Cullerades de ciència”, @cullerades), Albert Font-Tarrés (@FontTarres) and Joan-Francesc Ainaud (@jfainaud).
The aim of the exhibition, which can be seen  at the entrance of the Science and Technology Library until Thursday, May 11, has been:
1. To echo a very outstanding historical and scientific fact, through a social network of which @Bctuab is also a user;
2. Value the informative and quality work of teachers, researches and research institutions in the dissemination of knowledge also through social networks;
3. The massive following that the news had among Twitter users around the world;
4. The relevance of the use of Catalan in scientific dissemination.

We hope you enjoy the experience of accompanying Einstein and his wife throughout an intense week through Catalonia, and that you are encouraged to try social networks too and, above all, to spread #science.
