The Delta, threatened

el Delta, amenaçat

A diorama of the Ebro River, as it passes through the mountains to its mouth, as a backdrop to explain the situation of the delta and raise awareness, in an exhibition at the Science and Technology Library

The Ebro delta is the most important wetland area in Catalonia and presents a rich variety of environments. But the confluence of the natural environment with the processes of natural erosion, human activity and extreme events means that the delta ecosystem is permanently threatened.

With this exhibition, the Science and Technology Library wants to highlight this problem based on the scientific article "El delta de l’Ebre, un ecosistema amenaçat: causes i solucions" by the ecologist Carles Ibáñez, Scientific Director of the Climate Resilience Centre and a great specialist in river and coastal ecosystems.

The model of the river, prepared and assembled by Albert Sànchez from the ClickiClack Association, and the aerial views of the naturalist and freelance photographer Mariano Cebolla complete the exhibition at the Library entrance until April 8th.

Don't miss it!
