The Humanities Library, at the request of Professor David Paloma of the UAB Department of Catalan Philology, is added to the Badia i Margarit Year, with the commemoration of the centenary of his birth, underlining the words of Professor David Paloma himself, for which the university spirit is characterized by the construction and transmission of knowledge, by involvement in the future of society and by a permanent dialogue with the world.

If in times of pandemic we can inaugurate the exhibition that we had thought of when the pandemic had not arrived, it means that we will get over of it in all areas. Badia i Margarit is an exponent of a humanism that guides us and an optimism that saves us.

Badia i Margarit, in fact, said of himself that he was moderately optimistic about the future of the Catalan language. "Basically I think we'll get by, not without suffering."
