The Biophysics Unit of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is located at the Faculty of Medicine (building M) in the Bellaterra University Campus.
 
The Unit of Biophysics teaches the UAB degrees of Medicine, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Speech Therapy, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, and Microbiology, as well as in several official Master programs.
 
The teaching staff develops their research in the fields of membrane transport proteins, Alzheimer's disease, cell signaling, cell cycle and drug release systems.
 
The experimental techniques and methodologies used involve the use of synchrotron light, infrared spectroscopy and fluorescence, confocal and electronic microscopy, molecular dynamics, molecular biology and cell culture.
