Event details

On 14 June at 11 a.m. the UAB's ASRC will be presented at the Audiovisual Market of Catalonia. The archive, available online at https://arxiuradio.uab.cat/, gathers a selection of digitised fragments of Catalan and Spanish radio stations present on the broadcasting bands of Catalonia. It includes short samples of radio broadcasts of different genres, station announcements and advertising (for copyright reasons, music clips from radio formulas have been excluded). The oldest cuts in the archive date back to the 1950s. The bulk of the material collected, however, is from the transition period (1976) to the present. The radio piece will be presented at the conference "Catalan municipal radio stations and radio archives in Catalonia of the UAB (ASRC-UAB)" by Cinto Niqui, director of the Sound Archive of Radio in Catalonia (ASRC) and member of Incom-UAB, and Maria Teresa Santos Prados, manager of the collection of the Library of Communication and General Newspaper Archive.
