11F Film cycle
Description:
Picture a scientist: Film cycle to commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and Technology
The Faculty of Science has programmed a screening cycle for 11F.
The following films will be presented:

Clara. 90’ (OV in German with Catalan subtitles). Synopsis: Clara Immerwahr is the first woman at the University of Brelau to obtain a doctorate. She married the scientist Fritz Haber, who took advantage of her chemical knowledge to develop a poison gas employed in WWi, against Immerwahr’s wishes. Date and time: 21/02 at 11 h and 23/02 at 15 h. Place: Conference Room, Building C (Faculty of Science).

The path to nuclear fission. (OV in English) Synopsis: documentary that follows the career of the Austrian physicist Lisa Meitner, who was part of the team that discovered nuclear fission. She received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1944, but because she was Jewish and a woman during the rise of Nazism, she was marginalised. Date and time: 21/02 at 15h and 23/02 at 11h. Place: Conference Room, Building C (Faculty of Science).

El enigma Agustina (Agustina’s enigma). 100’ (OV in Spanish) Synopsis: The documentary covers some of the most important scientific achievements in Europe during the first third of the 20th century. It also deals with the struggle of women to gain access to scientific careers in Spain and vindicates some of the figures of the time. Date and time: 28/02 at 11h and 02/03 at 15h. Place: Conference Room, Building C (Faculty of Science).

Picture a scientist. 60’ (OV in English). Synopsis: documentary about the life of biologists Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks and geologist Jane Willen. It explains their experience as women in science, from brutal harassment to subtle snubs, and covers other communities of women researchers who fought for equality in different disciplines. Date and time: 28/02 at 15h and 02/03 at 11h. Place: Conference Room, Building C (Faculty of Science).
A round table will also be held on 15 March 2023 at 13h in the Board Room of Building C (Faculty of Science).

Training workshop: Tools to help in your Purple Point of the UAB¿s La Comunitària
Description:
Workshop to act as brigades of the UAB La Comunitària’s Purple Point, the 3th October, raising awareness and informing about the protocols and resources that the UAB makes available to the community to address situations of gender based and LGBTIphobic violence.
There will be three training sessions before La Comunitària: 12, 19 and 26 September 2023.

Awards to the best TFGs with gender perspective
Description:
On Wednesday March 24, at 12h, the fifth edition of the awards for the best Final Degree Projects (TFG) with a gender perspective will take place, corresponding to the 2019-2020 academic year.
This year a total of 134 people have presented themselves and will receive the 32 TFG award. The event will be broadcast on the UAB Youtube channel.
