International Workshop on Computational Nanotechnology
Description:
The UAB organises the 22nd edition of the International Workshop on Computational Nanotechnology (IWCN), a scientific meeting that aims to present and debate current trends and future directions in computational nanotechnology in the simulation of nanostructures, nanomaterials and nanodevices. An eminently interdisciplinary field involving areas such as electronics, engineering, physics, applied mathematics, chemistry and biology.
The workshop will be organised in a single-session format with different guest speakers, oral presentations, special sessions, forums and poster presentations on a variety of topics.
On 11 and 12 June, immediately before the IWCN, a satellite workshop entitled the International Wigner Workshop (IWW) will take place to discuss the application of the Wigner function in the descirption of several quantum processes in the fields of physics, chemistry and engineering.

The Creató of the Comunitaria UAB
Description:
Creató is a gymkhana organised for UAB students who must solve challenges posed around campus by using the design thinking methodology.
Students will be placed into multidisciplinary teams of 6 to 8 people and will have four hours to visit different offices on campus to propose and develop a viable and innovative solution to the challenge they were given and thus become the winners of the game.

Innovation Week
Description:
From 16 to 20 October 2023, the UAB will be organising its Innovation Week as a means to open up to surrounding entities and share its ecosystem of innovation and bring society closer to the technological and knowledge innovations it generates on campus.
The objective of Innovation Week is to make the UAB's commitment to innovation visible from the perspective of different agents, sectors and groups, as well as connectentrepreneurs with the nearby business fabric, private and public investment networks, and knowledge centres.
The programme offers different areas, activities and themes that will create spaces for meeting and interacting for UAB community members, start-ups, businesses and investors.
Some of the week's activities are:

Musical creativity and artificial intelligence
Description:
How will Artificial Intelligence radically revolutionise our way of creating, interpreting and listening to music? As part of the UAB Innovation Week, the UAB's Parc de Recerca and Faculty of Arts & Humanities organise a meeting which will bring together renowned artists and scientists working in the fields of AI, creativity and music to debate on the different social, ethical, creative and technical challenges facing society today, with music as an example of a space in which we coexist with AI technologies. The meeting will also be an opportunity to discover new entrepreneurial models and opportunities within the music and creative industries.
The meeting will also include a series of workshops on musical creativity and artificial intelligence and a round table, and will end with a concert by the UAB Chamber Choir and pianist and creator Carles Marigó.
Those attending will also be able to visit the AudioLab, one of the UAB's Open Labs.

2nd Workshop on "Women's Science and Entrepreneurship. Let's Overcome the Imposter Syndrome"
Description:
Under the framework of the UAB Innovation Week this workshop will hold its second edition in which it seeks to give visibility to innovative and entrepreneurial female figures on campus, identify needs and create a network.
The workshop will focus on internal and external limits encountered by researchers and will explore personal experiences, challenges and strategies used to overcome the imposter syndrome and shatter glass ceilings.
Several renowned experts and professionals will be participating by sharing their knowledge, research studies and practical experiences.

3rd Global Five Conference: "Economic Empowerment of Migrant Women for Gender Equality"
Description:
The Global FIVE Network organize a 3rd conference on the topic of the Economic Empowerment of Migrant Women as A Key Factor for Gender Equality.
Rosa Maria Sebastian, vice-rector of Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship at the UAB and director of the UAB Research Park, will participate with a presentation at the round table on November 9 at 4:30 p.m. on women's testimonies on equality gender, in which different successful women will share their experience on overcoming inequalities on the labor market.
