Subjects relevants to Technology Transfer
- Going beyond the scientific excellence: What’s behind the topic text, cross-cutting issues, impact, contribution to policy goals.
- How to be an influencer: via the Member States, via technology platforms and associations. The voice of many. Reach a broad consensus and you will be listened.
- The participants ecosystem. What are the typical roles and interests in the R&I projects for the different organisation types? Academia, applied research institutions, consultants, SMEs, large industries, civil associations.
- Innovation and technology transfer opportunities.
Objective of the session:
To learn how the calls for proposals are made, how the lobbies work, and how they influence companies, researchers, and countries.

SeeRRI Final Conference: Bringing Responsible Research and Innovation into Regional Planning
Description:
Since January 2019, the SeeRRI project has been working with European regional policymakers to explore how regional governments can practice responsible regional planning, regional planning that is anticipative, reflexive, inclusive, and responsive. Nearly three years of joint efforts will culminate in the "Bringing RRI into regional planning: From theory to SeeRRI".
The SeeRRI Final Conference will bring together policymakers, regional stakeholders, researchers, members of SeeRRI and related projects, EU officials, citizens interested in the future of Europe, and inspiring guest speakers for two days of knowledge-sharing and lively debates about the future of responsible regional planning and responsible research and innovation (RRI) in Europe and beyond.

Cervella't cycle. Psychosis: what is it, how and why it occurs?

On the occasion of World Brain Week 2022, held from 14 to 17 March, the UAB Institute of Neuroscience and the Mental Health CORE have organised the series Cervella't, a week of virtual and face-to-face talks open to everyone, with prior registration:

The first conference will be online and given by Alba Toll, doctor in psychiatry from the UAB and psychiatrist at the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital. With the title Psychosis: what is it, how and why it occurs?, she will analyse the causes of this mental disorder, characterised by a certain loss of contact with reality and mainly affecting young people.
It is a fairly common disorder, and it is estimated that 3 out of 100 young people will suffer a psychotic episode. There are various theories about its cause, but there are still many unanswered questions about the pathophysiology of this disorder and about more reliable prognostic markers and markers of response to treatment.

The conference on Tuesday 15 March will be given by Narcís Cardoner, associate professor of Psychiatry at the UAB and head of the area of neuroscience and mental health at Hospital Parc Taulí, who will speak about electroconvulsive therapy. This therapy is an effective treatment, but also a controversial and stigmatized medical practice. In this talk, the effects of electroconvulsive therapy on the brain will be discussed in order to understand its mechanisms of action.

In this talk, Dimitra Anastasiadou, associate professor at the UAB and post-doctorate at the Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research, will present ConVRself, a virtual reality platform through which a person can alternately occupy two virtual bodies (an avatar of himself and an avatar of a counselor who reflects and proposes solutions to the problem that the person has). The goal is to assess whether this technique can help people living with obesity increase their motivation to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
