7th CORE Seminar: Mental Health Research: Rethinking priorities?
Description:
We are increasingly aware that mental health goes beyond strictly biological and individual aspects. Our mental health is influenced by many factors, from our social and work relationships, the environment or physical activity, among many others. Consequently, mental health research encompasses more and more areas, as well as specialized in its field of study, from biological mechanisms to broad social determinants that alter it.
The new research policies propose the value of interdisciplinary research with the participation of the quadruple helix, where citizens, social agents, public administration and the academic world work together to respond to the health challenges that are presented to us.
Is mental health research being approached according to these new conceptions? How and who defines the challenges that must be faced from research? Should we rethink what the priorities in research are?

Animal Production Conference: co-creating the future of animal production
Description:
What should the animal production of the future look like? In the coming decades, Europe hopes to become carbon neutral, antibiotic use should be reduced and nutrient losses minimised. These goals can only be achieved through science, innovation in new technologies and the commitment of the sector to respond to the needs and interests of consumers. That is why, on 12 and 13 May, the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA) is organising the "Animal Production Conference: co-creating the future of animal production" at the PortAventura Business & Events Convention Centre in Vila-Seca, Tarragona. The aim is to debate and update knowledge in the different areas of work dedicated to meeting the new challenges facing livestock farming and aquaculture, to facilitate their transition towards a more sustainable system and to incorporate the One Health approach. Seating is limited and tickets must be booked through the event’s website. The full programme of presentations can be consulted at this link.
Place: PortAventura Business & Events Convention Center
Date: Thursday 12, May2022 - 08:30h
