5th Scientific Meeting of Phd Students at UAB campus
Description:
The "5th Scientific meeting of PhD students @ UAB campus 2020" is aimed to gather, disseminate and communicate among the PhD students of the Barcelona Nanotechnology Cluster – Bellaterra (ICMAB, ICN2, IMB-CNM, UAB), promoting collaborations between them in an academic and scientific environment.
The event incorporates the entire framework of the UAB campus, as well as other universities like UB, UPC or any other research centres and universities. The meeting structure of the 5th edition will include the usual oral presentations and posters. Furthermore, we also have some high profile speakers to enlighten us about different research trends and career paths in research.

HIGHER Final Conference
Description:
The European project HIGHER, coordinated by the UAB Research Park, organizes the closing ceremony of the project with an online event, which will present experiences and good practices on the management and implementation of regional policies designed to promote innovation projects.
Under the title "Getting higher with innovation", will present the main results of the project and share the best practices and actions of each region that have helped to strengthen the competitiveness of the business and the regional economic development, through smart specialization and the promotion of innovation projects under public private partnerships.
Specifically, different experiences will be presented by the Central Region of Macedonia, of Greece; by the Lithuanian Innovation Center; by Nordregio, from Sweden; by the Center of Excellence and Innovation in the Automotive Industry, from Portugal, and the Association of Urban Municipalities of Slovenia. Regarding Catalonia, the UAB Research Park will present its analysis of the RIS3CAT Communities instrument, the research and innovation strategy defined by the Generalitat de Catalunya, and an action plan oriented to increase the presence of social challenges and social innovation in the Communities policy instrument.
The event will also include a round table with different entities of the quadruple helix from the different regions: representatives of local administrations, clusters, companies, research or technology centers and universities.
Participation in the conference is free, but registration is required using the following registration form. The event will be will be streamed live online at UAB Research Park's Youtube channel.

Musical Improvisation with AI
Description:
This event includes live music performances and a discussion on creative AI for music improvisation. The speakers' presentations and the subsequent discussion will address topics such as the complexity of the human creative process, the creative aspects around improvisation, or whether AI can emulate jazz music's spontaneity. In the end, the audience will be able to engage with the participants through Q&A.
