During the past few months, the Parc de Recerca and the Doctoral School have paired up to offer an entrepreneurial programme entitled Validate your research which aims to foster knowledge transfer among PhD students. Now the programme is coming to an end, and on 15 July, participants will present the projects they have been working on and which represent examples of how research can be carried on into the market and viable business models created from research projects. Description:

The Barcelona Deep Tech Summit is an international congress focusing on scientific and technological entrepreneurship in which global and economic challenges will be analysed. Presentations will also be held of start-ups created at universities and/or research centres. The event will include 500 specialists and over 30 experts, in addition to the participation of international corporations and investment groups. 

The Barcelona Deep Tech Summit was created by the Barcelona Deep Tech Node initiative, launched by the Barcelona City Council through its Barcelona Activa, and by Catalonia's public universities: the UB, UAB, UPC, UPF, and UOC.

Description:

The XPatient Barcelona Congress is one of the main actions promoted by the XPA Barcelona (Patient Experience) -a community of practice that brings together institutions from the hospital, technology, research and administration fields- to transform the healthcare model and for it to place the patient as the key and priority element.

At the congress, the conclusions drawn from the workshops and activities of XPA Barcelona will be announced and the medical community will be invited to participate in the results obtained, to bring out the initiatives and good practices and help implement them in the health system.

Description:

After two years, the Santander International Entrepreneurship Centre (Centre Internacional Santander Emprenedoria, CISE) alongside the Damián Rodriguez Olivares Foundation and in collaboration with the Crue Universidades Españolas have organised a national congress of entrepreneurial scientists with the aim of raising awareness about scientists who end up becoming entrepreneurs.

The initiative aims to assess start-ups and spin-offs and encourage more researchers to take the entrepreneurial path.
