The world has social and environmental challenges and the UAB wants to be part of the solution. That is why it has proposed that its students and alumni use artificial intelligence to devise projects that provide solutions. This is the premise of Desaf·IA, a competition organized by the Entrepreneurship Unit of the UAB Employability Service, which will celebrate its second edition.

The event will take place on March 19, Wednesday, from 10:00 to 13:00 in the study room of the RR building, in Plaça Cívica (above the bar). It is conceived as an idea generation workshop in which people will be grouped into multidisciplinary teams, with members from different Faculties and Schools, to exercise their creativity and find solutions to the challenges posed.

To do this, they will be facilitated by Pedro Olivares, a leadership coach who will guide the session using the design thinking methodology. In addition, the competing groups will have to use various artificial intelligence tools that will be very useful in the process of devising their projects, such as ChatGPT, Perplexity or Bard.

The two challenges launched

The challenges that the UAB will launch are two and are based on two SDGs:

  • Responsible consumption and production.
  • Health and well-being.

At the end of the morning, the teams will pitch their project and an expert jury will select four winning teams, two for each challenge, based on the level of creativity, feasibility and impact of their proposals. All members of these groups will receive a 30 euro voucher to spend at Abacus.

Registration for the event is individual and free through the NEXUS app.
