Catalan anthropology demands its Professional College
The main associations and all the Anthropology departments of Catalan universities have promoted the Commission for the Professional College of Anthropology, presented on January 29 within the framework of the IV Catalan Congress of Anthropology (CoCA).
The campaign now begins with a open form to all people with a degree in anthropology (bachelor's, master's or doctorate), with two clear objectives:
- gather support for the creation of the College, and
- obtain data to analyze the current situation of the profession..
The creation of the College is viable, although complex, and is considered a necessary step to strengthen professional recognition, collective cohesion and the labor competitiveness of anthropology, which is currently at a clear disadvantage compared to other profiles.
