Catalonian Innovation Triangle (CiT)
The Catalonian Innovation Triangle (CiT) included in the municipalities of Rubi, Cerdanyola and Sant Cugat del Vallés is aiming to become one of the main European regions in technology, innovation, and knowledge transfer.
In this way, the CiT is promoting a new model for the development of economic activity, based on a cooperative effort among various stakeholders such as the administration, the private sector, universities, research, and innovation and business associations.
The CiT represents the integration and development of economic, scientific and technological activity in an area with 200,000 residents, 10,000 companies and 90,000 workers; and where 3% of Catalan economic activity is generated. At the same time, the presence of the 58,600 students, 4,130 researchers and 242 research based companies positioned this area as one of the research and innovation clusters with most potential in Southern Europe.
