Objectives

The purpose of this minor is to help train professionals with the language skills necessary further to develop efficiently in professional environments (commercial, academic, administrative, etc.) where communications, both corporative and individual, are carried out in German.

The minor is designed to offer a practical solution to the fact that more and more graduates enter a labour market whose spheres of activity are defined in international terms. Graduates must not only have advanced English skills, but also master a second foreign language.

The German language is important in international relations, given the weight of Germany, Austria and Switzerland as economic, cultural, technological and touristic factors.

The aim of the minor in German Studies is therefore to provide specialised training in the language and culture of Germany.

Student profile

Students taking a minor in German are students enrolled in a UAB degree, interested in being more competitive within a more and more international labour market. Upon completing the minor, students will have acquired the Level B 1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
