Quality Management System

How is the quality management system organized?

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is an institution governed by public law, with its own legal personality and assets, which operates with the autonomy granted to it by the law.

In line with the UAB's policy of reaching and maintaining a high level of quality in all aspects of research activities, a quality management system has been introduced in the university's Area of Research and Innovation, based on the international standard ISO 9001, with the following objectives:

  • To ensure that all services provided meet the needs of their users
  • To make processes more efficient
  • To increase satisfaction on the part of all parties, both internal and external
  • To reduce risks and incidents
  • To develop the R&D+I capabilities of all research groups and scientific and technical support structures
  • To make scientific production visible

The Area of Research is committed to developing, implementing and continuously improving this quality management system, as set out, among other documents, in the quality policy.

The administration and management units described in the organisation chart of the Area of Research manage and promote the UAB's research activities and, in collaboration with the UAB Research Park (PRUAB), work towards the transfer of knowledge to local communities and businesses and strengthen the vision of the UAB as an active agent in economic and social development.

The process-based organization offered by the Area of Research, as shown in the process mapallows to work more efficiently, measure their performance and improve continuously.
