Introduction

Ophthalmology is the medical specialty which is responsible for the treatment of eye diseases. In the anterior segment subspecialty, its purpose includes diagnosis of disorders and diseases of the anterior segment of the eye through several tests. Some pathologies of the anterior segment require the application of a drug, this is the case of infectious and inflammatory processes. In other cases they may require surgery

Given the amount of scientific advances in ophthalmology we believe it necessary date training in anterior segment in a customized way. For this reason the number of students is limited to a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2, so they can make the most of the knowledge of teachers ophthalmologists involved in the course, especially practical consultation, surgery, collecting documentation publications and ongoing studies, and also theoretically attending clinic sessions and preparing for meetings at which they expose areas of interest that have previously prepared. These works constitute the research which the student is required to develop during the course.

The master thesis will consist of writing a research paper with scientific methodology.
Program for doctors and ophthalmologists with some experience interested in acquiring expertise in anterior segment. Those selected will participate in both theoretical and practical in daily practice: evidence for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the current studies

Objectives

Ophthalmology today has seen an increase in the complexity of diagnoses and in the number of treatments available, which leads to the need for specialisation in the different parts of the eye and the pathologies that affect it, and in the therapeutic possibilities opened up by combining different treatments.

This master's degree focuses on diagnosis and medical and surgical treatments for pathologies of the anterior segment. Students will learn to use innovative surgical techniques and the latest equipment for complementary explorations.

Additionally, in view of the large number of publications specialising in anterior segment, students will be trained in document management for publication purposes, the preparation of articles for specialist journals and books, and the presentation of results in clinical sessions and studies in combination with other specialist areas in the same centre.
