Introduction

Ophthalmology is the medical specialty which is responsible for the treatment of eye diseases. In the glaucoma subspecialty, its purpose includes diagnosis of this disorder of optic nerve through several tests. Some glaucoma require the application of a drug, this is the case of infectious and inflammatory processes. In other cases they may require surgery.

Given the amount of scientific advances in ophthalmology we believe it necessary date training in glaucoma in a customized way. For this reason the number of students is limited to a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2, so they can make the most of the knowledge of teachers ophthalmologists involved in the course, especially practical consultation, surgery, collecting documentation publications and ongoing studies, and also theoretically attending clinic sessions and preparing for meetings at which they expose issues of interest that have previously prepared. These works constitute the research which the student is required to develop during the course. The master thesis will consist of writing a research paper with scientific methodology.

Program aimed at ophthalmologists with some previous experience and interested in acquiring expertise in glaucoma. Those selected will participate in both theoretical and practical in daily practice: evidence for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the current studies

Objectives

- Ophthalmology today has seen an increase in the complexity of diagnoses and in the number of treatments available, which leads to the need for specialisation in the different parts of the eye and the pathologies that affect it, and in the therapeutic possibilities opened up by combining different treatments.

- This master's degree focuses on diagnosis and medical and surgical treatments for glaucoma. Students will learn to use innovative surgical techniques and the latest equipment for complementary explorations.
