IntroductionFood safety is one of the most interesting and complicated areas for those interested in the study of food and its characteristics, i.e. appearance, safety and nutritional value.
On the other hand it is also necessary to have knowledge of the Spanish and European frameworks to guarantee competitiveness in the food production industry.
When we talk about food safety we do not just mean the possibility of food being contaminated and cause an infectious or toxic process. We use the term more widely given that there are situations of food preparation or composition that could be related to food poisoning outbreaks.
Objectives- Know and understand the Spanish and European agro-food regulations.
- Train students to include this knowledge of the functions of the European Food Authority and the National Food Safety Agencies in their professional activity.
- Show students the procedures for obtaining certification of food quality and safety.
- See food safety as a derivative of constitutional laws on health.
- Degree or Diploma with knowledge and experience of food hygiene.
