Graduate Diploma in Perinatal Emergencies: Obstetric and Neonatal Care
IntroductionPerinatal Emergencies are situations of high risk both for the mother and the newborn, and are main causes of morbimortality during pregnancy and in the the first few days of life of the newborn.
This course aims to offer not only an updating of knowledge but also training in unusual situations where adequate actions by the midwife and nurse as members of the care team can improve maternofetal results. The use of simulation as a learning tool facilitates the acquisition of knowledge and abilities in a safe environment and, at the same time, to practice using communicative tools with the mothers allows them to offer holistic care in obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Objectives- Updating of handling obstetric and neonatal emergencies and complications.
- Updating of handling critical pregnancies.
- Updating of handling of critical newborns.
- Decision-making training.
Diploma or Degree in Nursing and/or Specialist Nurse in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Care for frail patients suffering from chronic illnesses in hospitals or residential health centres.
