Graduate Diploma in Executive Management of Document and Archive Services

Introduction

The School of Archiving and Document Management, together with the Association of Archivists of Catalonia, aims to provide postgraduate training to equip those in charge of archives or document management services with tools and strategies to fulfil their duties successfully and lead processes of organisational innovation and change.

This Graduate Diploma in Executive Management of Document and Archive Services is a response to the growing need in public and private organisations for document and archive managers who are trained to meet the challenges posed by a society in constant transformation. The programme therefore covers all the various areas that are crucial to the proper running of these services: strategic vision, planning and organisation, infrastructures, technological resources, team management, money management, focus on results and on quality, communication and services.

Objectives

Train professional archivists and document managers in public administrations and private companies and institutions in the fields of executive management in archive centres and document management services.
Offer adequate training to enable these professional to manage teams for strategic planning, management and communication.

Access requirements

Any bachelor's degree or pre-EHEA diploma. Access to this course will also be considered for candidates who do not have the above qualifications, for example, if they have sufficient proven professional experience in the sector. On passing the course, these students will receive a certificate of attendance only.

The Graduate Diploma is intended for present or future public administration and private sector employees responsible for such essential elements as strategic planning, human, financial and technological resources, and the promotion of goods and services within and outside their organisation.

It is also for specialists in operating key management tools: archivists, document managers, IT specialists, administrative staff, etc.

Document management services and documentary heritage centres in local, regional and national public administration.

Private organisations (universities, professional associations, schools, church institutions, archive centres, etc.).

Companies offering document management and archive services (consultancy, archive organisation, digitalisation, document security systems, destruction of documents, computerised document management, etc.).
