The UAB to welcome university meeting to fight against sedentary lifestyles
The ACE aims to foster healthy university campuses, with a strong focus on physical activity and improvement of the dietetics and mental health of not only students, by also of administration, services and lecturing staff.
On 15, 16 and 17 May, the UAB will be celebrating the fourth work meeting of the Active Campus Europe (ACE) project, which forms part of the Erasmus Plus programme. The UAB's SAF is member of the programme alongside 15 other universities from seven EU countries. The meeting will take place at the SAF facilities and at the Hotel Campus with the aim of fighting against a sedentary life among university students.
The topics which will be discussed will be divided into two parts. On the first day, coordinators from the different work groups will meet to offer a general vision of the purpose and results of the programme. On 16 and 17 May the meeting will be open to all ACE coordinators from participating universities and common subjects will be discussed, as well as other work themes.
The ACE project's main objective is to help increase the daily physical activities carried out in university workplaces and classrooms. The programme is addressed mainly to students, but is also open to other members of the university community, such as administration and services staff and faculty members. The objective of the meeting is to share the progress made in the ACE project in different universities in order to determine the future of the project.
