The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), a leading network in higher education committed to innovation in both learning and knowledge transfer, and of which the UAB is member, has organised a master class on innovative learning strategies on 19 and 20 September at the Lodz University of Technology (TUL) in Poland.

The meeting is entitled "Design Thinking and Problem Based Learning as an Innovative Learning Strategy" and it is this year's ECIU Masterclass on Entrepreneurial Teaching and Learning. Lecturing staff from all member universities will attend the meeting to share their most relevant experiences and practices.

The meeting will include two main conference speakers: Diana Stentoft, lecturer at the Centre for Health Science Education and Problem-Based Learning of Aalborg University, Denmark, and Molly Wilson, lecturer at the Hasso-Plattner Institute of the University of Potsdam, Germany.

Fostering Knowledge and Research Transfer

The consortium, founded in 1997, brings together a group of European universities, one from each country, with a particular interest in developing a culture of innovation and in the role of the university as a catalyst for collaboration and the transfer of research and knowledge to society. The ECIU universities are characterised by the strength of their research, by being in many cases under 50 years' old, and by their deep involvement in innovation and transfer.
