UAB closes from 4 to 24 August

As in previous years, centres at the Bellaterra campus will be closed during the first three weeks of the month, from 4 to 24 August. Only specific services will remain available. During these three weeks, the campus' main road will be closed for maintenance.

The UAB will be closing all its centres from 4 to 24 August. Some services, however, will remain available. During this period, the main road (Eix Central) will be closed to traffic from the Building C to the Plaça Cívica.

The UAB security services will be working 24 hours a day throughout the month of August. You can reach them at (+34) 93 581 25 25. The UAB Healthcare Service will be closed and therefore, in case of an emergency, please contact the campus security services. Healthcare services will be available only on Friday 1 August and again from 25 to 29 August, from 9 am to 3 pm.

The Information Service will be open from 1 to 8 August and from 18 to 29 August, from 10 am to 2 pm (Tel: +34 93 581 11 11, informacio@uab.cat). The International Welcome Point will be open from 25 to 29 August from 9:30 am to 3 pm.

With regard to transport, internal buses will not be running from 4 to 24 August. From 1 to 3 and from 25 to 31 August buses will run every 30 minutes. For information on reaching the campus with alternative means of transport, please consult the website Mobility and transport.

All libraries on campus will be closed from 4 to 24 August. The study hall of the Social Sciences Library will be open from 9 am to 9 pm from 1 to 24 August, and from 25 August the study hall will be open 24 hours a day. The Support Service Unit will be open from 8 am to 3 pm, from 1 to 22 August, and from 8 am to 5 pm from 25 to 29 August (+34 93 581 21 00, cas@uab.cat). For those needing to make photocopies, the photocopy machines will be functioning and the reprography stores at the Plaça Cívica (open 8 am to 3 pm), and at the faculties of Philosophy and Arts and of Sciences will be open (from 25 to 30 August, from 8 am to 3 pm).

The UAB Graduate School will be open all month, Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 am to 1 pm (+34 93 581 30 10, ep.doctorat@uab.cat). The Registry Office at the Rectorate building will be open all August, Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 2 pm.

Another service that will be open all month is the Physical Activity Service (SAF), Mondays to Fridays from 8:30 am to 10 pm. The only bar to remain open will be the Social Sciences' bar, open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm from 25 to 29 August; Restaurant Sirius (Mondays to Fridays, 1 to 4 pm) and Cafeteria Larissa (8 am to midnight and on Sundays from 10 am to midnight), at the Hotel Campus, will be open all August.

Construction on the Eix Central

During these days, the Eix Central will be closed to traffic from the C Building to the Plaça Cívica. Given the minimum activity going on around campus during the month of August, workers will be improving the wastewater collector located under the street.
