UAB among the top 100 worldwide in eight disciplines

The UAB ranks 23 worldwide in the field of Veterinary Medicine and is among the top 100 universities in Agricultural Sciences and Forestry, Physics, Geography, Communication Studies, Economics, Modern Languages and Mathematics.

The British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published today the results of the fourth edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, which classifies the top 200 universities in the world according to 36 of their subjects.
 
The UAB is among the 100 top universities in eight disciplines: Veterinary Medicine (in 23rd place), Agricultural Sciences and Forestry, Physics, Geography, Communication Studies, Economics, Modern Languages and Mathematics. It ranks among the top 150 universities worldwide in Philosophy, Environmental Sciences, Psicology, Sociology, Education and Chemistry.
 
And among the 150 to 200 best universities worldwide, the UAB is present in Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacology, Geology, Accountancy and Finance, Politics and International Studies, and Statistics.
 
A total of eight disciplines have improved their position in comparison to last year's ranking: Modern Languages, Electronic Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Geology, Mathematics, Accountancy and Finance, Education and Sociology.
 
The QS World University Rankings are considered to be one of the most prestigious rankings in the world, together with the Times Higher Education and the Academic Ranking of World Universities of Shanghai. In this year's edition, a total of 3,467 universities were evaluated.
