UAB among the first in the QS Top 50 Under 50 ranking

The classification carried out by QS Quacquarelli Symonds registers the top 50 universities founded less than 50 years ago. In the 2014 edition, the UAB ranks 10th worldwide, second in Europe and first in Spain.

The universities of Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea occupy the first five positions in the ranking. Australia is the country with the most institutions in the ranking, with a total of nine. Spain is the second most represented country, with 5 universities.

With regard to other universities in Spain, following UAB is the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, ranking 11th; the Pompeu Fabra University (31); the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (43) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (48).

In Europe, the five top universities are the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands; the UAB, the Autónoma de Madrid and the universities of Bath, UK, and Antwerp, Belgium.

The list of universities was compiled by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the leading company in university rankings. QS Top 50 Under 50 ranks universities founded after 1964, and is based on the results of the QS World University Ranking 2014/15, which includes the top 800 universities of the world.
