This coming summer, the UAB organises a new edition of the Universitat d'Estiu-Summer Term. There will be three types of courses available: bachelor's degree subjects, university participation activities and propaedeutics. Students will soon be able to register through the UAB website.

Bachelor's Degree Subjects

From 29 June to 17 July, students will be able to take intensive courses in subjects offered in the UAB bachelor's degree and thus become acquainted with university level courses. The courses consist of introductory, first-year subjects. Most of them last three weeks, are worth 6 credits and, once they are passed, they will be included in the student's academic transcript. The courses are divided into daily lectures, meetings with lecturers and other activities in the morning, while the afternoons are reserved for studying.

Although enrolment is open to all university students, the courses are especially addressed to future first-year students, or students already enrolled in a bachelor's degree.

Propaedeutics

Propaedeutic courses will take place from 1 to 15 September. They are offered with the aim of helping students improve their learning methods and make transition to university easier for them. Several courses can be taken, in a variety of areas: biosciences, sciences, education, political science and sociology, business and economics, engineering, philosophy and arts, translation and interpreting, and veterinary medicine.

Each course lasts some 15 to 60 hours and are addressed to students who will begin their studies in the 2015/16 academic year, or to those getting ready to enter university. Enrolment grants may be awarded to students who apply and fulfil all requirements, based on their family income. Applications can be submitted at the same time as you enrol.

Participation activities

Finally, the UAB also offers university participation activities from 29 June to 17 July. These complementary activities can be validated for optional credits.

In the case of foreign languages (different levels of German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Catalan, etc.), UAB bachelor's degree students will be able to validate up to 12 credits. In the case of cultural or sportive activities, student representation, volunteering and cooperation tasks, students will be able to validate up to 6 credits for these activities.

At the website of the Universitat d'Estiu-Summer Term you will find all information on schedules, prices, enrolment processes, etc.
