The Laboratory of Cybermetrics of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) has made public this year's second rankings of repositories. In this fourteenth edition, the Deposit of Digital Documents of the UAB once again tops the list of the best repositories in Spain.

Worldwide, the UAB digital archive ranks eleventh, while in Europe it ranks fourth, behind the British Europe PubMed Central, and the French Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique and the Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société.

The aim of this index it to promote open access to the results of research conducted by universities and research centres. To determine the suitability and competence of these online archives, the results and positions these websites occupy in Google searches are taken into consideration, mainly in visibility and in the number of documents appearing in Google Scholar, a database of science papers.
