The IWD will take place from 8 to 11 February

The International Welcome Days will take place, like every Term, to welcome international students who have just arrived at the UAB to do an exchange programme. This event, which will start on 8 February and end on 11 February (remember that 12 February is a bank holiday), will have many activities for the international students to get to know the Campus and the university services and student societies. The event will also be a meeting point between international and local students.

The Student societies Fair, which will take place on 8 February at 12:00 h, will open this week’s activities. With this fair, in which student societies such as El Musell and CRUAB will participate, international students will have the opportunity to discover UAB student societies, and also which activities are organized and how they can participate in them. The official welcome will be in the Sala Cinema at 13:00 h.

One of the activities of the event, will be a talk with the Sinvergüenza student society, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) students society. There will be presentations of the FAS and Cultura en Viu, and of the volunteering projects (public health, educative and penitentiary projects) and other cultural activities that take place both inside and outside the campus. We will also go to the SAF to take a look at the facilities and do a Zumba class.

One of the main attractions of the cultural exchange will be the International Lunch, on Wednesday 10 February at 13:00 h, where international students and students who participate in the Mentor programme will bring a typical dish of their country to share with everyone. After the international lunch, the students will have the opportunity to participate in the Tàndem, a linguistic exchange programme that takes place every Monday in the Sata d’Actes at l’Àgora.

To close the International Welcome Days, there will be a walk around Barcelona, with Plaça Catalunya as a meeting point, and all international students are welcome to join.

You can find all the activities in the International Welcome Days programme. Do not forget that you need to register for some of the activities.
