Global StoryBridges is a project organized by the University of Wisconsin-Madison (United States). The project encourages youth to share their stories in English with other students from all around the world through digital communication. Youth participants live in communities of poverty and are English language learners.

The Autonomous Solidarity Foundation (FAS), under the Let’s Go socio-educational programme, takes part in Global StoryBridges with the collaboration of twelve students of 7th grade from the two high schools in Badia del Valles.

The goals of Global StoryBridges are to enable youth across the world to learn about others globally, gain cultural awareness, and become global citizens; to increase English language and literacy skills for educationally at-risk students globally; and to develop technology skills, critically necessary for youth throughout the world.

Work in each site is done collaboratively: participating youth represent their unique lives and communities through the creation of video stories, utilizing a full range of multimodal communication. They decide what to represent and how to tell their stories, watch and discuss videos from other sites, decide together what questions and comments to pose and how to respond to questions and comments from others. Through these collaborative communications and interactions participants expand their language, literacy and technology skills and develop global awareness and understanding.
