Sant Gervasi high school team, in Mollet del Vallès, will be representing the UAB next week at the High School Debating League 2017 final. The members of the team are being trained by members of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences. The professor of the Department of Animal Medicine and Surgery Martí Pumarola and veterinary student Anna López are helping the team prepare for the final stage of the High School Debating League.

The topic of discussion in this year’s High School League is: “Do animals have rights?”, so it seems reasonable for Pumarola and López to help the five members of the team prepare their arguments. In fact, the two counsellors were part of the jury during the local phase of the League that took place at the UAB on February.

There are 12 teams competing at the High School Debating League 2017 final, each of them representing one university. The teams will be divided in two groups and every team will compete against four other teams. The winning teams of each group will face each other in the final.
