More than 25 million Euros for the UAB's European projects

Through Horizon 2020, the European Commission will fund a total of 43 UAB projects with the sum of 25.42 million Euros. It is the second highest funded university in Spain, following the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC) with 27.76 million Euros.

Data for the funding of research projects under the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme place the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona as the second university in Spain in terms of funding volume. The UAB will receive 25.42 million Euros which will go to 43 research projects.

The first institution in volume of funding is the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), which participates in 204 projects and will receive a total of 92.5 million Euros; next is the Tecnalia Research & Innovation Foundation, with 104 projects and 48.45 million Euros; the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), the university with the most funding in Spain, with 27.75 million Euros for 55 projects.

The list of the top ten institutions with the most funding from the European Commission programme Horizon 2020 are the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO), with 23.7 million Euros for 37 projects; the company ATOS SPAIN SA, with 23.58 million Euros for 55 projects; the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), with 22.26 million Euros for 57 projects; the University of Barcelona (UB), with 21.89 million Euros for 62 projects; the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), with 19.67 million Euros for 43 projects; and the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), with 19.57 million Euros for 25 projects.
