On 5, 6, 7 and 8 of November, 43 Criminology students from 20 Spanish universities met in Granada for the III Meeting of Criminology Student Representatives (EREC) organized by the Inter-university Society of Criminology Students (SIEC).

The SIEC is the state-level Criminology student association, made up of representatives from each university and created in order to cover the need for representation in the Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology. It represents and defends the rights and interests of Criminology students from all over Spain and, also helps to create and develop of Professional Criminology Associations, and an official criminology knowledge area, and to unite study programmes.

The event consisted of work meetings, at which the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona had five representatives and two guest students. During the meetings, the students sat on three committees: communication and social networks, career opportunities, and surveys. However,  a fourth committee was created at the meeting that, from now on, will collect information about master's degrees in Criminology.

The students that attended the meeting, enjoyed the experience of working to achieve a better future for all criminology students and being able to share opinions with other representatives about topics related to criminology, such as different approaches to certain problems. They are now back at the UAB with a better and more general idea about the work that they have left to do this 2015/2016 academic year.
