Paula, volunteer student: "Attending university isn't only about getting a degree, you also connect with other social realities."

This past academic year the team was formed by 600 people. Paula Sánchez, a bioscience student and volunteer, explains that “going to university isn't only about getting a degree, it also helps you connect with social problems and learn things that classes can't teach you”.  According to Pablo Valcárcel, a social education student, “by working as a volunteer of the Justice programme, I am the first to benefit from it since I receive more than I give.”

In which volunteer programme would you like to participate?
We're looking for people interested in meeting new people, learning about new realities, with a couple of free hours a week, and lots of interest in fighting for social justice, the environment and our health.
This year, the Fundació Autònoma Solidaria, which coordinates the university's volunteering programmes, offers places in the social, penitentiary, socio-educational, socio-sanitary, health and environmental fields.

Those interested in participating can visit us at the Plaça Cívica (next to the Òptica universitària shop), send us an email (fas.voluntariat@uab.cat), or fill out this form. We organise sessions to explain each programme and offer training sessions to all our volunteers.

Participation in volunteering programmes can be validated as academic credits. Come see us for more information!
