A new semester begins and that means International Welcome Days are back at the UAB. A series of activities are being held from 8 to 16 February for all international students coming to study at the UAB. The activities are aimed at helping newcomers become familiar with the campus, its services, and the UAB associations and gives them the chance to meet other local and international students.

There will be several activities, workshops and conferences offered. The first day will include a welcoming session and the UAB Associations and Services Fair will be held to inform students about the different groups on campus and how to join. Later, students will have the chance to participate in the Tandem session and practise languages in groups at the conference room (Sala d'Actes) of the Àgora building. One of the most important events of the International Welcome Days is the international potluck on 9 February, when all students, local and international, can share a typical dish from their home country. On Friday 10 February there will be a guided tour around the campus, from Can Miró to Bellaterra, to help students discover the different parts of the UAB. On Saturday the activities will be centred on Barcelona: a visit to the city and a picnic at the Ciutadella Park. Students participating in the Mentor programme will be in charge of the visits.

On 13, 14 and 16 February, several activities organised by the Servei de Llengües, Colla Castellera Ganàpies and the FAS (Fundació Autònoma Solidària) will take place to bring these associations closer to all new students. These activities help to welcome international students and foster cultural exchanges between international and local students.

The full programme for the International Welcome Days can be visited at the Community Involvement Unit website.
