Under the name “Sensibile e Giocoso”, the UAB Choir and Orchestra invite the university community to enjoy good music in an intimate and joyful atmosphere.

It's Christmas again at the UAB and, as usual, this year includes the traditional holiday concert for all the community to enjoy. The UAB Theatre invites all to enjoy musical classics from artists such as Les Luthiers, Henry Purcell and Frederic Mompou, among others. The voices of the UAB Choir and the instruments of the UAB Orchestra will offer a sensitive and pleasant environment for all those interested in attending on Thursday 18 December at 2 pm at the UAB Theatre. Entrance is free and open to all those interested in attending.

Under the conduction of Poire Vallvé, the UAB Choir is made up of a group of university students with a very strong dedication which goes beyond rehearsals and concerts around campus. In addition to Christmas, the Choir actively participates in university life and holds several performances throughout the year.

The UAB Choir was founded 32 years ago, while the UAB Orchestra, under the conduction of Jesús Badia, was born 17 years ago and includes musicians with a basic level looking for a space in which to combine their love for music with their university studies. The activities of the Choir and Orchestra are flexible and vary each year, depending on its members.

This year, the musical repertoire will include “Insalata Italiana”, by Richard Gené, “Palabras para Julia”, by Paco Ibáñez, and “Cançó i dansa n. 9 i 7”, by Frederic Mompou. Several typical Catalan Christmas carols will also be sung such as “El noi de la mare” o “El dimoni escuat”. The format is thus very complete and includes a variety of songs.
