Ceremony on the occasion of International day against gender violence

Next Tuesday 21th of November, on the occasion of International Day Against Gender Violence, the Observatori per la Igualtat has organized a ceremony where a manifest will be read and “Captures” performance will be represented. It is a poetry recital with piano’s and percussion’s music. It will be at 13 o’clock in Sala Teatre.

Next Tuesday, 21th of November, a ceremony will be held in University Campus of Bellaterra, on the occasion of International Day Against Gender Violence. It will be at 13h in Sala Teatre (Edifici Àgora, Plaça Cívica)

Since 1999, this day, 25th of November, has been celebrated to show the effects of gender violence’s that women suffer. It take into account since male chauvinism or subtle violence to feminicide. This year 49 women have been assassinated by men in Spanish State, 8 in Catalonia. It is more than the last year.

In this context, Observatori per a la Igualtat organizes an event to commemorate the Day Against Gender Violence. The ceremony will be presented by Sara Moreno, Vice-Rector for Students and Employability. On the other hand, Joana Gallego, director of Observatori per la Igualtat, will read a manifesto.

Thereafter, shall take place “Captures”, a spectacle of Renu’s collective. It will combine feminist poetry, piano’s improvisation and percussion. Mainly, it will be a show to make visible woman’s voices as a claim. It is an intimism, human, feminine and feminist performance.

Likewise, Núria Batlle, Reina Capdevila and Roser Ros, will participate on the show. Clara Peya as a pianist and compositor will be on the piano. She has collaborated with artist as Silvia Pérez Cruz or Judit Neddermann. The percussion will be in charge of Mónica Cano and Maria Jiménez, both with a large career in Arts and Dance.
