Have books in good condition you don’t read anymore? Want to buy new books at a very reasonable price? Put your old books to good use and donate them at the Espai Solidari of the Autonomous Solidarity Foundation (the FAS), starting 4 April, and buy new books on 26 April, on occasion of the third daytime debate of the series of #debatspublicaXXI debates.

Companies, schools, universities, cities, societies… a total of 120 institutions are currently taking part in the “Recicla Cultura” campaign of the Servei Solidari foundation. It is a socially inclusive project that seeks to raise funds to sponsor language and literacy courses for foreigners in vulnerable situations. In Catalonia, over 25% of foreigners do not speak Catalan or Spanish in their everyday life, which hampers their full integration into society and their involvement in it as active citizens.

When, how and where to contribute?

  • Take books you don't read anymore and drop them off at the Espai Solidari of the Autonomous Solidarity Foundation, 31 March to 25 April on the usual opening hours: Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Buy second-hand books at the Autonomous Solidarity Foundation’ stall, 26 April at the Plaça Cívica, on occasion of the third daytime debate of the series of #debatspublicaXXI debates. All proceeds from the book sale go to the Servei Solidari foundation!
What to donate:
  • Books in good condition.
  • Novels, children’s books, teen books and academic books.
  • Scholarly books and encyclopaedias will not be accepted.
