"Les edats de la vida/The Ages of Life" are poetic and visual actions and contemporary choreographies mixed with lullabies, songs from children's games, learning tunes, rap tones, pitchmen's sing-songs, wedding songs, urban rhythms and funeral rituals.

The performance will be offered in different parts of the Plaça Augusta and next to the tower. It is open to all publics and lasts approximately 30 minutes. The objective of the performance is to describe with a universal language the different ages of life through songs from all over the world.

This is the final project developed by international students of the UAB Barcelona Summer School who are taking the course in Urban Performing Arts, offered by the Comediants theatre company as one of the 15 courses available in this third edition of the UAB's international summer school. It is the result of the artistic laboratory research based on the experiences and memories orally transmitted to each student in their home country (United States, Korea, China, Syria and Catalonia).

Throughout the three-week course, Comediants provided students with the tools to understand different aspects of the artistic creation process and art in public spaces. The course began on Monday 25 June and will end on 13 July, offered 100% in English. During the course, students visited Canet de Mar (on 30 June) and the basics of street art and urban performances were analysed, as well as the preparations of a typical Mediterranean festival.

UAB BARCELONA SUMMER SCHOOL
The Urban Performing Arts course is one of the 15 courses offered by this year's UAB Barcelona Summer School, the international summer programme at the Bellaterra campus, especially designed for international students, in two different periods lasting three weeks each: from 25 June to 13 July and from 16 July to 3 August. This year's edition has included over 200 students from 28 different countries.

The 15 courses range from business, computing or bioscience subjects to audiovisual communication, childhood education and psychology, among others. It is aimed at graduate and undergraduate students, and for the first time is open to UAB students, with the aim of offering them an international experience at their home university.

The Comediants
The Comediants theatre company is formed by actors, musicians and all types of artists fully devoted to the world of creations. Born in 1971, all of the artistic creations of the Comediants are inspired by pagan, traditional, religious and initiation symbols, myths, rituals and ceremonies which celebrate the cyclic journey of humans on Earth. They offer a “theatre of the senses": colours, smells, emotions and textures, but also provocations.
